Get running week 1 no 2

I completed run 2 of week 1 in a very hurried workout yesterday morning. I had overslept and was rushing through in time to get showered and ready for an interview. I did however complete the run and felt quite good about it after. I carried it out on an empty stomach (hopefully that will have helped my fat stores!) and therefore expected to really struggle, but that was not the case, I am looking forward to slowly increasing my running time!

The bad side to this is I am so tempted to buy new trainers!!! I have never bought a special pair of trainers, always got cheap ones in the sale that looked half decent! However, until I get a ft job they are a distant dream :(

Graduation!

This week I graduated! I am now a graduate with a 2:1 degree in Public Relations. Very exciting! Now the search is on for a job within PR/Marketing!

I thought I would share a picture from the day which was held at the London Royal Festival Hall on Southbank. The picture shows my outfit which was a taupe Reiss dress with grey Kurt Geiger shoes with my graduation robe and hat.

I had such a nice day, it made the struggle of the past three years somewhat worth it!

Get running!

I want to be able to run! I am 21, and cannot currently run more than a few minutes without being knackered! My general level of fitness is ok, I have just never been able to run, it caused much embarresment at school.

A few years ago, I took part in the Race for Life and expected to walk the course, but motivated by the other runners I managed to jog the majority of the course. Ever since then, I have not been able to achieve this again!

So. I have downloaded the Get Running app onto my iphone and am determined to be able to increase my running stamina. The Get Running app is an 8 week course where 5km is the target distance. I believe it is based upon the couch to 5k programme.

I have just completed my first Get Running workout! I did it at the gym before I got on with the rest of my workout. It took me 32 minutes in total, and comprised of a 5 minute warm up walk, then alternating 1 minute of running with 1 1/2 minutes of walking finished with a 5 minute cool down. I found it quite comfortable so am finding this encouraging!

The idea is three workouts a week for 8 weeks and then I should be able to run 5km! Lets hope so!!

This app seems to be a really good idea, it talks you through when to start running etc, how long you have left and you can have it on with your music. I am looking forward to seeing if I can achieve this goal!!!
